WELCOME
We are a new laboratory at the Institute for Functional Biology & Genomics, a joint research institute of CSIC and the University of Salamanca, in beautiful Salamanca, Spain. Previously, we have been fortunate to work at the Microbial Sciences Institute and the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Yale University, and at the CNB in Madrid. Our work lies at the interface between systems biology and microbial community ecology and evolution. We seek to develop strategies for the optimization of microbial consortia, through a combination of theory and experiments, and by bringing ideas and methods from population genetics into functional ecology
